One of the main benefits of purchasing a long term hosting package from your hosting provider is obviously the price factor. Most hosting providers will give a deep discount for you to purchase a long term plan such as 1, 2 or more years in advanced.
Pricing for these plans can be as low as almost a dollar per month, but are you getting a good value at $1 per month?
Things to look for and tips before you go for the gusto and purchase a long term hosting plan:
1. Try their service on a month to month basis for a couple of months first. Make sure the service is any good before giving all of your hard earned money to any company.
2. Make sure their datacenter is of good quality. Don’t be afraid to ask your provider where their datacenter is located, what datacenter they use and what quality servers they use. Obviously you might not want to use a service where the server is located in some guy/gals basement running off of a cable connection. So, get in there and ask what they are using and what you are going to get when you put your mission critical data or just your brochure website with their service.
